3A. Ken Eller. Pulsing Marches. Players will learn how to play the music in marches by the use of pulse lines, and will learn to play musically and in time, and to memorize tunes more quickly. Practice chanter required.
3B. Bill Livingstone. Band Ensemble. Bill will ecplain how the Scottish Lion 78th Fraser Highanders get their great ensemble sound, and provide ideas on how to improve ensemble at any grade level. The ensemble concept will be illustrated using recordings and an excellent sound system.
3C. Jim McGillivray. Introduction to Piobaireachd. An explanation of the nature of piobaireachd and work on a first tune. Players will learn the structure of the tune and the necessary technique along with exercises to practise the technique. Players should be able to play the basic light music technique although speed is not crucial. Practice chanter required.
3D. Ed Neigh & Pat Potter. Bagpipe Setup and Medical Concerns. Players will learn how to set up a bagpipe so it fits their body and is easy to blow, and the medical problems that can occur with less than optimim setup. The session will be interactive to address players' problems. Bring your bagpipe.
3F. Jake Watson. Intermediate MSR. A session for players competing with these tunes in the intermediate amateur grades. Players will learn the expression necessary to obtain prizes. Players must register in advance and will be sent music. Practice chanter required.
3G. Bob Worrall. Practice Strategies. A session for all players who will learn how to organize their practice sessions and get the most out of them.
